We are expanding our high-tech activities and taking steps in the nuclear sector. For example, VDL KTI in Belgium will manufacture key components for the new PALLAS reactor in Petten. This reactor ensures that the Netherlands can continue supplying medical isotopes for the next 50 years, which are essential for the treatment of millions of people.
And we will deliver various components, such as the heat exchanger, for a molten salt reactor (MSR). This MSR is being developed by Thorizon and can supply power to 250,000 households. This reactor uses molten salt as fuel and coolant.
The world is in transition; our energy system is shifting from fossil fuels to sustainable sources. Electrification has the greatest impact because sustainably generated energy is often available in the form of electrons, such as in solar and wind energy.
